Michigan TU News:
Michigan TU proudly announces its new website

Michigan TU (MITU) is proud to announce its new-and-improved website. While its address,  www.michigantu.org, is unchanged, what you will find there is a whole lot of updating to make the website easier to navigate and more interesting to visit.

New features and improvements on the website to look for are:

  • Our Twitter Feed - you do not need to have a Twitter account to read our tweets.  Find this at the bottom of the page.
  • News stream! All of our recent and past news can be found under MITU News
  • Easier-to-follow navigation
  • Updated Graphics
  • Etc.

One of my favorite features on www.michigantu.org is the touch-of-a-button access to all 20 TU chapters in Michigan. Click the “Michigan Chapters” button at the top of the homepage, and it takes you to a map of Michigan showing the location of the chapters, as well as a drop-down menu that lets you click directly to each chapter’s website. It’s a great way to catch-up on what your own chapter is doing, and to see what’s going on in other chapters around the state.

There’s always the latest news right there on the homepage. Take a look now, and you’ll find information about the 2011 Michigan Youth Trout Camp and 2011 Michigan TU Flyfishing School (great time to get you or family/friend enrolled for this summer). There’s also a posting from Bryan Burroughs, Michigan TU Executive Director, about the just-published report from MITU on the impacts of large-quantity water withdrawals that are allowable under the state’s new water withdrawal law.

www.michigantu.org is becoming a helpful go-to resource to keep up-to-date on what’s happening in and around the world of TU in Michigan. Last year, more than 130,268 visitors went to the website to find out more about coldwater conservation and angling in our state.

We all owe a big thank-you to Ron Peckens, MITU’s Communications Chair, for his time and talents on www.michigantu.org. Ron hosts and maintains the website through his business, Fisheye Internet Solutions & Hosting LLC (www.fisheyeinternet.com).

So, give the new website a click today.

Tight lines!
