Michigan TU News:
Michigan Trout Unlimited: Two Ways to Support Trout
Written by In the Stream

Did you make a year-end contribution to Michigan TU last month?  It is not too late to give a little back to help protect and preserve the trout fishing heritage and resources that mean so much to you.  Michigan TU has a lot of work to do in this New Year, and your contribution will help get it done.

Coldwater conservation won’t happen without your support. The statewide work that Michigan TU does helps ensure healthy coldwater streams and trout fishing to pass on to the next generation of anglers.

Michigan TU leverages the efforts and talents of the state’s 21 chapters, and applies them to statewide issues more effectively than chapters could by acting alone.

The challenges…and opportunities…that are out there in 2010 for trout and trout fishing have never been bigger. Michigan TU will be working on them:

  • Overhauling the trout fishing regulations
  • Expanding the River Keepers volunteer stream monitoring program
  • Dam removals
  • Reorganization of the newly formed Department of Natural Resources & Environment
  • Protecting trout streams from mining, oil/gas drilling, and agricultural runoff
  • Enforcing the state’s new water law

Please help protect Michigan’s wild trout and salmon by making the most generous contribution possible.
